The University Grants Commission (UGC) is set to host a unique university connect event on September 26, 2023, in New Delhi. This event promises an exclusive interaction between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the academic community, including Vice-Chancellors, principals, faculty members, and students from various universities and colleges. The gathering will take place at Bharat Mandapam.

While the official program is slated to commence at 3 p.m., participants, including students and faculty coordinators, are requested to assemble at 2 p.m. Pre-registration is mandatory for all attendees, and only registered individuals will gain entry to this significant event.

In an effort to ensure broad representation, the UGC has urged universities and colleges in the National Capital Region (NCR) to participate actively. They are encouraged to nominate approximately 30 to 40 students and two faculty members to partake in this event. Additionally, the heads of these institutions have received invitations to join the program on September 26.

India has garnered noteworthy success through the G20 University Connect Programme, spearheaded by the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS). During this event, key members of the G20 Team of India will provide insights into the C20 outcomes.

To facilitate coordination, institutions are advised to designate a faculty coordinator. Their contact details, including email addresses and mobile numbers, should be shared at dgoffice@ris.org.in.

This event stands as a unique opportunity for India's academic community to engage with the nation's leadership and discuss pivotal issues in the realm of higher education and research. It underscores the commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation in the academic sphere, ultimately contributing to the nation's growth and development.
