The Telangana Government and the British Council introduced a residential short-term certificate course in the United Kingdom for 15 meritorious Telangana students under the Scholarships for Outstanding Undergraduate Talent (SCOUT) program by GREAT.
As a part of this initiative, the University of Glasgow will host 15 UG students and two faculty members from Telangana in March & April 2023 for a two-week short-term certified course on the subject- How to be More Rational: Critical Thinking, Logic, and Reasoning.
The course will help develop the academic and research skills of the students and will permit them to acquire interdisciplinary knowledge via new pedagogical approaches. The activity will also allow students to influence their local community, institutes, and future workplaces via their learning.
The initiative will deliver exposure and skills to talented young students with limited means to access or experience international education and encourage them toward cutting-edge innovation and research. In a reciprocal arrangement, the government of Telangana will secure 5 master's scholarships for study in United Kingdom (UK) universities as part of their Chief Minister's Overseas Scholarship Scheme.
Rachel Sandison, Deputy Vice Chancellor, External Engagement & Vice Principal of External Relations at the University of Glasgow, said we are glad to be working in partnership with Higher Education colleagues from the Telangana region and the British Council to offer this exciting golden opportunity for UG level students from the State. The University of Glasgow is proud of the connection we have with our partners across India and is committed to helping students who wish to study in the United Kingdom (UK) and Scotland. We look forward to welcoming the meritorious Indian students to our #TeamUofG community in the Spring, Sandinson added.
