The International Teachers' Olympiad 2022 is the enormous multinational Olympiad for teachers recently announced to support teachers' constant growth and professional development. The International Teachers' Olympiad 2022 is the enormous multinational Olympiad for teachers recently announced to support teachers' constant growth and professional development. This Olympiad is a surprising shift in the educational ecology by refocusing the Olympiad on teachers rather than students. The Olympiad will provide an opportunity to recognize their core skills and competencies.



The International Teachers' Olympiad expects to lure participation from 100,000 teachers from various nationalities across the globe. The Olympiad aims to determine the effectiveness of teaching practices across global teaching standards and empower teachers with hybrid classrooms, evolved pedagogies, innovative teaching techniques, and changing modalities.



All the Olympiad participants can assess their state and national level position with their percentile scores. Teachers will also get a customized analysis of their skills and pedagogy with a six-month action and expert recommendations from international teacher educators. The Olympiad will ensure that all students at all levels of education are taught by professionally trained, well-equipped, and well-qualified teachers in line with the National Professional Standard for Teachers (NPST), suggestions made in NEPP 2020, and international teaching strategies across the globe.



Suraasa (Les Transformations) is the organizer of the event. They announced that the registration process for the Olympiad will commence on the 1st of September and will be open to in-service, retired, and aspiring teachers to participate. The winning teachers will also win cash prizes.



The Olympiad is a considerable opportunity for teachers, but it is also a blessing for schools struggling to map a professional development plan for their teachers. Schools will get an individual report with combined overall scores of all their teachers added with an action plan for improving student engagement and teaching in their classrooms. This initiative will help schools and teachers to approach professional growth and development more effectively.



Leading Cognitive Scientist and Suraasa CEO Rishabh Khanna shared his views about the Olympiad and said that Teachers are highly underappreciated and underrated. They believe that the International Teachers' Olympiad 2022 will go a long way in getting them the much-deserved recognition by spotlighting their professionalism and expertise in the world. He added that Olympiad would act as a tool for teachers to realize their true teaching potential by recognizing their strengths and giving them a concrete plan of action to achieve their goals.



This Olympiad might be one of the many new initiatives that would force the country to the global forefront of education by interpreting the issue and producing remedies to direct stakeholders. At the same time, it also puts deserving teachers under the spotlight blasting off the teaching profession at the heart of education modification.
