Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Education and Skill Development Minister, has launched a 100-day reading campaign 'Padhe Bharat'.

The campaign signifies an important step towards improving the learning levels of students as it develops critical thinking, vocabulary, creativity, and the ability to express both in writing and verbally, as per the official statement.

The launch of the Padhe Bharat Reading Campaign is in line with the NEP (National Education Policy) 2020 which highlights the advancements of joyful reading culture for children by guaranteeing the availability of age-appropriate reading books in their mother tongue/ regional/ tribal language.

The focus of the campaign will be on the students studying in Balvatika to Class 08.

The campaign will continue for 14 weeks and one activity per week has been designed for each group with the aim of making reading enjoyable and building a lifelong partnership with the joy of reading. The Campaign will start from Jan 01 and will continue till April 10, 2022.

The Govt, as part of the Padhe Bharat Campaign, has also shared a detailed guideline with the states and UTs having a weekly calendar of activities divided according to the age groups.

The students can perform these activities within the comfort of their homes with the help of resources. The guidelines also allow students to take help from family or peers in case their schools are shut.
