UPES Organized the 3rd Iteration of Flagship Event UHACKATHON 3.0
The 3rd reiteration of the flagship event UPES UHACKATHON 3.0, a 24-hour coding marathon, commenced on August 5, 2022, and ended on August 6, 2022. More than 200 teams participated across India & SAARC NATIONS, out of which only 28 teams made it to the finale.

The 3rd reiteration of the flagship event UPES UHACKATHON 3.0, a 24-hour coding marathon, commenced on August 5, 2022, and ended on August 6, 2022. UPES vice Chancellor Dr. Sunil Rai inaugurated the event. The event was followed by regional folk dance and the unveiling of the letter from the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, where he praised the efforts of the organizing team, motivated and wished success to all participants.



The problem statements were invited from the industry and the public sector around themes enclosing Data Mining, Social Media, Computational Optimization, EdTech, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Environment & Ecology, Healthcare, and so on. More than 200 teams participated across India & SAARC NATIONS, out of which only 28 teams made it to the finale. Finale included 25 National teams from 9 states of India and two teams from SAARC NATIONS representing Tribhuvan University from Nepal and Daffodil International University from Bangladesh and Russia represented one team from Southern Federal University via online mode.





The hackathon was announced open by Dr. TP Singh, Professor and Cluster Head, Informatics Cluster, and convener of the event. The intense coding competition had three evaluation rounds followed by a presentation round for the top eight teams. Committee Chair of Startups and E-Cell and an active member of the Ph.D. Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Samosh Masih was the Guest of the valedictory session along with the Datacouch team represented by Harshit Gupta- Technical Consultant, Aman Pundir- Tech lead, and ms. Akanksha Chandola Anthwal- Instructor and Principal Instructor.





The top eight teams were T-error 404, Team twins, Team Vyasa, Team Summiteer, Team Aniire, Team Déjà vu, Team Swagriculture, and Team Grey Project. T-error 404 team was the second runner ups, containing members from VIT and UPES. The first runner-ups were Team Vyasa from Chandigarh University, and the winning teams were Swagriculture and Grey project, both from UPES.



Also, in addition to the prize money, Tenjin Online will offer a two-month online internship to team Techmady and team Entity, and team ANIIRE of Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies. CrossTower will also provide internships (offline) to team TechnoMaits of GGSIUP and team Befikre Coders of Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies. The teams that performed uniquely- Team Test Data (awarded Sleepy Coders), Team Vyasa (Electric Currents), Team AV (Stuck between Food and Code), and Team Let See (Master of Robo Land) received special prizes.



Team Twins of the Southern Federal University of the Russian Federation was awarded the Best Online Participant and was specially mentioned as superior and hardworking. The third iteration of UHackathon finished with a vote of thanks from Ms. Sugandha Sharma, faculty, School of Computer. She thanked the participants, guests, and delegates for attending the hackathon event and the organizing committee for their implacable support, which made the event a huge success.
