The commencement of the academic session 2020-21 for the first-year engineering program has been extended by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) to December 01.

As per the revised academic calendar, the commencement of classes has been extended by a month and the date to finish the admission process has also been extended to November 30.

The circular released by the council stated that the decision has been taken due to the arising pandemic conditions for the admission process in the Indian Institute of Technology and the National Institute of Technology which has been extended till November 30.

All AICTE approved universities/ institutes have also been directed to follow the UGC (University Grants Commission) exam guidelines, as per the council's direction. The council has also instructed that the classes can be started in online, offline or in blended mode.
