The CBSE affiliated schools have started the offline practical examinations whereas Class 12 theoretical exams have been cancelled due to COVID-19.

The offline conduct of practical exams has made several parents anxious because suddenly CBSE schools have sent mail to the parents detailing the schedule of the practical exams. Several parents have launched an online protest against the offline mode and some of the parents have refused to send their kids for exams.

The practical exams carry 30 marks for each subject. The schools have been advised to upload practical marks by June 11, 2021. This timeline has caused a major stress for schools as there is a rush now to complete the exams so the submission of projects and journals could be done on time. The schools are also expecting an alternative for practicals.

The schools are also awaiting the evaluation procedure for cancelled exams.

In Maharashtra, around 14 lakh HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) students are waiting for the assessment criteria since the exams were cancelled on June 03. The schools are conducting the practical exams for physics and chemistry subjects from monday. This will force students to stay in schools all day as each practical will be of 03 hours, as per reports.

In some schools, students also complained that the exams are being conducted without following the social distancing norms. Principals reported that the marks of the practical exams are crucial and will benefit students.
