The Odisha State Open School Certificate Examination and the Annual Matric Supplementary examination has started on 14 September. The annual matric supplementary exam is being attempted by the students who couldn't clear the annual high school certificate examination. Around 35000 students are expected to appear for the exam.

The President, Board of Secondary Examinations, stated that around 22649 students are appearing for the offline exam across the state. The first exam, Odia Language, was conducted following the safety guidelines issued by the authorities.

The Odisha State Open School Certificate Exam is conducted for the over-aged school dropouts by Odisha State Open Schools and the exam is conducted twice a year. These certificates are parallel to SSC/ Sr. SSC of formal School System.

As per the official statement issued by the BSE, there will be 07 evaluation centres for the Open School exam whereas 13 for Matric Supplementary exam.

The District Education Officers have also been advised to make adjustments for sanitization of the examination centres each day after completing the conduction of the exams.
