The National Institute of Open Schooling has cancelled the Class 12 Exam 2021. The exams have been cancelled due to the prevalent COVID situation across the nation. The Institute has cancelled both practical and theory exams for senior secondary courses.

Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, Education Minister, announced the news through his official Twitter handle. He tweeted, "Keeping the safety and security of our students on priority, NIOS cancels class 12 examinations". The evaluation of the students will be done on the basis of the objective criteria which will be announced soon, added Pokhriyal.

This decision will comfort around 1.75 Lakhs students.

The objective criteria to evaluate students will be declared soon by the Institute.

The NIOS has also released a notice stating that any student who is not satisfied with the evaluation will be granted an option to attempt in Public Exam or through On-Demand Exam, according to the situation. The result of such students under such circumstances in ODE or in Public exams will be considered Final.
