NIRF Rankings 2023; Deadline- November 18, a new category added
Interested higher education institutions can register for the NIRF rankings by visiting the official website- nirfindia.org. The application process is available till 5 pm on November 18 for these rankings.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) is inviting applications for the NIRF National Institutional Ranking Framework ranking 2023. Interested higher education institutions (HEIs) can register for the NIRF rankings by visiting the official website- nirfindia.org. The application process is available till 5 pm on November 18 for these rankings.



This year, NIRF has added one new discipline- Agriculture and Allied Sectors. Also, the architecture category has been renamed Architecture and Planning.



Last year, there were only four classifications– Overall, Research Institutions, Colleges, and Universities and seven subject disciplines– Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Law, Dental, Medical, and Architecture.



In NIRF 2022 rankings, IISc Bangalore ranked first amongst all institutes under the research and universities classification and ranked second in the overall ranking. IIT Madras got the first rank in the overall ranking category.



National Law School of India University secured the highest spot in the law category.



Meanwhile, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM Ahmedabad) was the top-ranked management college. Last year, about 670 institutions participated in the rankings, out of which 387 had no research publications.



The institutions were ranked based on diverse parameters in different disciplines. Some parameters include research and professional practice, outreach, graduation outcomes, and inclusivity, among others.
