The National Medical Commission (NMC) has recently changed the minimum age criteria for aspirants appearing in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test- Undergraduate (NEET-UG). On June 2, 2023, the apex medical regulator's Graduate Medical Education Regulations (GMER 2023) notified that aspirants would not be authorized to appear for the NEET-UG exam unless they have completed the age of 17 years as on or before January 31 of the year of the admission to undergraduate medical programmes. Earlier, the cut-off date for completion of a minimum of 17 years was December 31- the year of admission.
