The Supreme Court has dismissed the plea seeking extra attempt for the aspirants who exhausted their last attempt in Union Public Service Commission's Civil Services Exam 2020.

The plea was filed by the aspirants in Supreme Court requesting an extra chance to appear in the Civil Services Exam 2021 for all the candidates who have exhausted their last attempt in 2020.

The SC had also asked the Center's opinion regarding the case to which the centre had refused to grant any additional chance to the aspirants stating that it will be discriminatory to other candidates.

On Feb 09, the Centre had informed the SC that it is against granting one-time age relexation to the civil service aspirants including who had exhausted their last attempt in 2020.

Later on, the Center, agreeing to the SC suggestion, said that the candidates who have attempted their last chance in Oct 2020 can apply for CSE 2021 provided they are not age barred.
