The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), which is also accepted by more than 2300 business schools across the world, will now include the new section i.e. AWA (Analytical Wing Assessment) section in the online exam which was earlier omitted. The GMAT exam is the requirement for admissions in business schools and 09 out of 10 new MBA entrants across the world are chosen using a GMAT score.
The decision was taken as a part of improvements introduced by the GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) in the online exam. The administrator of the GMAT is aiming to provide additional flexibility to the aspirants.
Some GMAT attributes were excluded from the initial online exam launch including the AWA to acknowledge the rapidly changing marketing dynamics, as notified by the GMAC officials. However, the section has stayed an integral part of the GMAT exam which provides aspirants with the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas and critical thinking and business schools with perception, they further added.
The GMAT exam has evolved and in under a year, several improvements have been released by the GMAC to the online exam experience of GMAT including the disability accommodations, the use of physical and online whiteboards and the opportunity to retake the exam.
Chief Product Officer and General Manager of Assessments of GMAC Joy Jones said, "We're focused on providing the flexibility and support to address the long-term needs of schools and test-takers. As we continue to adjust to uncertainties of the new exam, our online exams have become a vital standard option, providing test takers around the world with the confidence to test in a test centre or online to meet their business school application needs".
Since the launching of the GMAT online exam, more than 45,000 exams have been delivered over 150 countries and special administrative areas.
