Oxford University Press India (OUPI) has unveiled an exclusive wellness curriculum that aims to nurture school-going children's emotional intelligence and holistic well-being. Termed- 'My Happiness and Me', this curriculum features a series of eight interactive workbooks tailored for students from classes 1 to 8. Developed in collaboration with Rangeet, these resources aim to empower children with a deeper understanding of emotions, encourage physical activity, foster healthy relationships, and instill a sense of environmental responsibility.

This comprehensive curriculum aligns seamlessly with the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework 2023, prioritizing a well-rounded educational approach. 'My Happiness and Me' equips students with essential tools to identify and manage their emotions, distinguish between positive and negative feelings, and provide strategies for emotional expression and resolution.

Sumanta Datta, MD of Oxford University Press India, emphasized the curriculum's role in providing practical guidance to students in navigating their emotions and relationships. This approach, endorsed by the Oxford Impact Study, not only enhances overall well-being but also demonstrates a positive correlation with improved academic performance across diverse subjects.

The Oxford Impact Study underscores the pivotal role of wellness education within school curricula. Its integration amplifies student engagement and serves as a catalyst in reducing dropout rates, enhancing students' self-belief, and fostering a sense of confidence, thereby contributing to their academic success.

Structured around five key themes—My Mind, My Body, My Relationships, My World, and Nature's Beauty—each workbook encompasses an array of engaging topics. These span from understanding and managing emotions such as anger and stress to addressing significant social issues, including interpersonal conduct, combating bullying, advocating for gender equality, and promoting a balanced lifestyle encompassing nutrition and exercise. OUPI stresses that 'My Happiness and Me' provides an interactive and accessible avenue for children to explore their thoughts and emotions, facilitating their holistic growth and development.
