10,500 Students Got Admitted to 80 Jharkhand Govt-run Schools of Excellence

According to the Jharkhand government, out of the 41,000 candidates, 10,590 have been announced successful for admission to 11,936 seats in 80 government-run schools of excellence in Jharkhand. These schools were inaugurated on May 2 by Chief Minister Hemant Soren as part of an academic reform initiative to provide quality English-medium education comparable to private schools.



Among the successful candidates, 7,499 students have been admitted to classes one, six, and nine. The government aims to provide quality education to 15 lakh children in its schools. The next phase of educational reforms includes establishing 325 block-level schools and 4,091-gram panchayat-level model schools in order to expand access to quality education.



In a noteworthy achievement, ten students from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Khunti district, which is part of a government project to reduce gender disparities in rural and disadvantaged communities, qualified in the JEE (Mains) examination.



The principals of these 80 schools have received online training in two phases from the National Center for School Leadership. The students in these schools of excellence will also receive vocational training in eleven trades, including agriculture, IT, ITES, apparel and make-up, home furnishing, media and entertainment, automotive, tourism and hospitality, beauty and wellness, multi-skilling, electronics and hardware, retail, and healthcare.
