Today, as several 'Learn Coding' apps are in the market, more and more students are taking interest in these online applications and some of them are developing apps as good as adults.

One such example is Aritra Neogi, a 14-years old and class 11 student of KV, Barrackpore, WB, has won the IIT Roorkee's K-Summit'21 App Innovation Challenge by developing a digital classroom app: Yesmam. The app helps students and teachers to connect in a virtual classroom while ensuring faster and smooth interaction between them.

The YESMAM app is available to download on Google Play Store. He received a certificate from IIT Roorkee and Codingal merchandise.

Manas Hajmadi from St. Paul's English School, Bengaluru has won the first runner up for his app 'TrashTag' that uses QR code to incentivize garbage disposal and Lakshay Kumar from Jiva Public School Faridabad has been the second runner up developing 'Neorky' app which will help unemployed people in finding short-term projects and jobs nearby.

The K-Summit'21 App Innovation Challenge was organised by IIT Roorkee for students from Class 08 to Class 12 in collaboration with an edutech startup Codingal that train students in coding. The students were given topics to develop apps and these topics were education, agriculture, environment, healthcare and sanitization.

More than 400 students from across the country participated in the event. Vivek Prakash from IIT Roorkee and Satyam Baranwal from IIT Dhanbad (co-founders of Codingal) were also mentoring these students to develop their apps.
