Academic Calendar by Ministry of HRD

The Ministry of Human Resources and Development has released an Academic Calendar for the primary and the upper primary classes (Till class VIII). The calendar provides the detailed curriculum and resource materials. The main motive of the calendar is to keep learners engaged in studies during their stay at home with the help of their parents and educators. The calendar provides guidelines to the teachers to use social media tools to give education in innovative ways. The calendar also includes links to Audiobooks, Radio programmes, Video programme schedule as well.



The calendar has been created by NCERT under the guidance of MHRD keeping in mind the special circumstances of the present situation. The week-wise plan includes various activities and is divided into themes based on NCERT's prescribed curriculum chapters. Moreover, the activities are given in the calendar focus on learning and this can be achieved through any resource including the textbooks children are using in their State or Union Territories.



In addition, it also covers experimental learning activities such as Arts Education, Physical Education, Yoga, Pre-Vocational Skills, etc. This calendar contains class-wise and subject-wise activities in tabular forms, read the official release. Apart from that, the academic calendar also has activities related to 04 languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, and Sanskrit. The alternative calendar for classes 9th to 12th would be released soon.
