Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy made a significant move on Thursday by disbursing Rs 46 crore to 357 eligible underprivileged students for their higher education in foreign universities under the 'Jagananna Videsi Vidyadeevena' scheme.

This scheme provides financial support to students from SC, ST, BC, and minority communities with Rs 1.25 crore and students from other communities with up to Rs 1 crore to pursue their education abroad. Chief Minister Reddy hailed the scheme as a blessing for those students who secure seats in renowned foreign colleges but face financial constraints.

Through this program, eligible students have the opportunity to study in institutions recognized under the prestigious QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education Rankings, offering courses in engineering, medicine, law, journalism, and more. A total of 320 foreign colleges are open for admissions through this initiative. Chief Minister Reddy stressed the importance of supporting these students, as tuition fees in some of these institutions can exceed Rs 1 crore.

He emphasized that supporting these aspiring students is crucial for nurturing future leaders and highlighted that 'Jagananna Videsi Vidyadeevena' is a revolutionary step that will bring fame to Andhra Pradesh. He proudly stated that no other state is providing such extensive support to students studying abroad.
