The Delhi Hign Court has restricted the schools from charging annual and development fees from the parents until further notice. The HC held that the fee can't be charged during the ongoing corona lockdown and when schools are yet to open & function properly.

Justice Jayanth Nath expressed this ostensive opinion while hearing the plea filed by the parents' association of private school stating that the schools have started charging annual and development fees in addition to the tuition fees for the July month.

The Court has also issued the notice regarding the issue to the Delhi Government and the schools seeking their opinion.

The schools argued, via video conference, that the lockdown is over so the charges can be imposed whereas the Delhi Government's representative mentioned that the schools, as per the circular issued by the Directorate of Education on April 18, can't impose these fees during the lockdown period which continues until the schools physically reopen.

However, the tuition fees has to be paid by the parents.
