On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal promised free and good education to all Gujarati children.
Arvind Kejriwal addressed a town hall in Bhuj, the district headquarters of Kutch district, and stated that they guarantee free and good education to every child born in Gujarat. He said that people are free to send their children to private schools, but if parents don't lack money, this reason will not be allowed to stand between a good education and their children. Kejriwal added that they would give the best education to all Gujarati children free of cost.
First Guarantee: Chief of the Aam Aadmi Party gave five guarantees to the people of Gujarat. The party will execute the guarantees if it wins the assembly election. He promised free education to children, organizing an audit of private schools and restricting them to expand fees unreasonably, overhauling government schools, regularising contract teachers, and not allocating non-teaching duties to teachers.
Second Guarantee: As his second guarantee, Kejriwal promised that the AAP government would remake and modify current government schools into SHANDAR schools, which would be better than private schools in respect of buildings, teachers, and desks, classrooms, and blackboards, and promised to open many new government schools.
Third Guarantee: As a third guarantee, the government will conduct an audit of all private schools and ask all those who have accumulated exorbitant fees to return them to people. If any government desires to extend its payment, it will need to take approval from the government, and no school will be allowed to increase the fee unreasonably.
Addressing the future of 17 crore students studying in government schools, including 53 lakh in Gujarat was dismal- The Aam Aadmi Party chief proclaimed that government schools were in chaos because the Congress and BJP governments did not set schools right and instead made education KABADA (waste and business). He stated that the practice of private schools asking parents buy books and uniforms from separate schools will be eliminated.
Fourth Guarantee: As a fourth guarantee, he said there are many kacche (ad hoc or temporary) teachers like vidyasahayaks and contractual. AAP government will regularise their service and treat them with all respect. The chief said that teachers would teach students well only if they respect them, honor them, and give them job security.
Fifth guarantee: As his fifth guarantee, Kejriwal stated that teachers would not be assigned non-teaching duties. He said they would not give non-teaching to any government. It has stopped in Delhi and will stop in Punjab also. He appealed to all teachers working on probation in government primary schools for the first five years after being recruited by the Gujarat government and policemen to campaign for the AAP government and ensured to fulfill their demands of regularising their services and higher grade pay respectively if voted to power.
Kejriwal added that all Vidyasahayaks do passionate campaigning for the AAP government. He promised to settle all the issues after three months when they form the government. He further stated that the Gujarat government is not taking action against private schools that were increasing fees unreasonably and looting parents. He said that he is told, that in Gujarat, there is a committee to handle school fees. But instead of controlling the fee structure, all the committee does is give its stamp of approval to fee hikes. He added that the private school managements have virtually had recourse to hooliganism, and the government is not taking any action against private schools because it receives money from them.
Repeating his signature- Hamne Dilli ke sarkari schools shandar kar diye (AAP government turned government schools in Delhi into excellent schools) statement, the Delhi CM spoke that there was 99.7 percent result of government schools students in board examination and students from government schools managed to get admission to medical colleges, and IITs to emphasize that it was possible overhaul government schools and make quality education available to children who belong to minorities also.
