Assam government to Introduce Scholarship, Fee waiver for Female Students and also Declares March 31 as a Student day
The government of Assam will be distributing 52,000 tablets to different schools. Under this initiative, female students from minority communities will be suitable for scholarships from the state. A mobility grant has been launched for female students in UG and PG courses.

Ranoj Pegu, Assam Education Minister, announced that the Assam government dedicated March 31 as Student Day as a homage to Upendra Nath Brahma, a social reformer. The government will launch several schemes for students.

The government of Assam will be distributing 52,000 tablets to different schools. Under this initiative, female students from minority communities will be suitable for scholarships from the state. A mobility grant has been launched for female students in UG and PG courses.



In addition to this, undergraduate and postgraduate students will also receive book grants. Incentives on mess dues and fee waivers to colleges will also be introduced on March 31, 2023, at Shankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati.



In recent news, the Assam government also declared that it would be creating 819 posts for teachers in tea garden schools. The state government will spend Rs 33 crore in order to impart high-quality education to the students of the tea garden communities, Ranoj Pegu further said.
