Assam govt Introduced Digital Textbooks in 8 Mediums, 19 languages
The Assam government has developed 475 titles of textbooks available in downloadable forms available at SCERT, SEBA, and AHSEC. This initiative will allow students to access their needed books easily from anywhere and anytime.

On May 13, 2023, the Government of Assam introduced e-textbooks from pre-primary to Class XII in order to make education accessible and readily available to students in Assam. The digital textbooks are launched in 8 mediums and 19 different languages, making it more comfortable for learners, educators, and guardians to access the textbooks anytime and anywhere.



The Assam government has developed 475 titles of textbooks available in downloadable forms available at SCERT, SEBA, and AHSEC. This initiative will allow students to access their needed books easily from anywhere and anytime.



Launch Program



Ranoj Pegu, Cabinet Minister for Education and Welfare of Plain Tribe and Backward Classes, inaugurated the program.



The launch program was conducted in the presence of Debananda Hazarika and Tulsi Barthakur, Chairman and VC of ASTPPCL, along with other administrators of the Department of Education.



The minister commented that the e-textbooks would allow students, teachers, and guardians access to textbooks anytime and anywhere.



Assam state runs schools in eight different mediums in order to facilitate the linguistic diversity of the state. The Assam government has delivered 475 titles of free books to 59,97,975 students physically.



Also, e-textbooks for all classes, from pre-primary classes to class XII, will now be available for download at the portals such as SCERT, SEBA, and AHSEC. The e-textbooks have already been published in 19 diverse languages and eight mediums.



According to the report, around 54,000 profiles, including 45,000 government and 10,000 central government and private schools, are ready to benefit from the program.



With the launch of digital textbooks, students across Assam can access their required textbooks easily and without hassles.
