Amidst the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, the Bihar government has launched helpline numbers for students hailing from the state. Currently, many students are trapped in that war-torn country who were pursuing higher education.

The evacuation process of trapped Indian students in Ukraine is speeding up, many students are anxious to make an exit anyhow due to the current military crisis.

The Bihar State Disaster Management Department has issued the helpline numbers which are 0612-2294204, 0612-1070, and 7070290170. The Department has also issued an email-id i.e. seoc-dmd@bihar.gov.in.

The Bihar Bhavan in New Delhi has also launched an email-id i.e. rescm.bi@nic.in and a helpline number i.e. 7217788114.

Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs also issued an advisory, urging Indian citizens in Ukraine to avoid blocking border checkpoints 'without prior information' due to the obvious security risks.

The Govt has already started the airlifting process of Indians, mostly medical students who were studying in Ukraine, and the Centre has also informed that these will not be charged for their return travel.

The Nitish Kumar Government in Bihar has also announced to bear all the expenses of the remaining part of the commute, for the students who hail from the state.
