British Council Women in STEM Scholarship Applications are Open now; Check the Last date to apply & eligibility
he British Council Women in STEM Scholarships are granted to women who wish to seek postgraduate study in science, technology, engineering, or maths (STEM) at a university in the United Kingdom who can indicate their demand for financial support and who wish to encourage future generations of women to pursue STEM careers.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has recently informed that applications are open for British Council Women in STEM scholarships. Eligible candidates can register for the scholarships by visiting the official website – britishcouncil.org. The last date to apply for the scholarship is March 31, 2023.



An official statement from the MoE’s higher education department on the official website of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) said the British Council Women in STEM Scholarships are granted to women who wish to seek postgraduate study in science, technology, engineering, or maths (STEM) at a university in the United Kingdom who can indicate their demand for financial support and who wish to encourage future generations of women to pursue STEM careers.



In collaboration with 19 UK universities, the scholarship programme includes benefits of academic prestige, financial aid including tuition fees, stipend, travel expenses, visa and health coverage, special support for mothers, and English language help.



Eligibility Criteria




  • The candidate must be a woman

  • The candidate must have a permanent residence in India

  • Have completed all undergraduate degrees that will allow you to gain entry onto a PG programme/course at a UK university partner by the time you submit your application form for the scholarship and be due to begin your PG programme in the UK.

  • Have not earlier studied at a degree level or higher education level in the UK or lived lately in the UK.

  • Complete the English language condition of the UK university partner.

  • Present a case for financial support.

  • Return to your nation of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship award has finished.



The education ministry added it may be noted that the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has no part in the nomination or selection of the candidates. This notification is put up for more comprehensive public dissemination of informational purposes only.
