The Supreme Court has dismissed the plea seeking hybrid mode to conduct CBSE and CISCE Term 1 Board Exams. Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice CT Ravikumar dismissed the petition.

The Top Court, in its final hearing, said that it will be irrelevant to interfere now as the exams have already commenced from Nov 16. "It will be inappropriate to disturb the entire process of examination at this belated stage", added the SC.

Furthermore, the SC also ordered both the Boards to take mandatory precautions during the Term 1 Board Exams.

In case the petitioners had approached the Court at an early stage, the Court would have considered the case. It also would have directed the boards to conduct the Term 1 Board exams in the Hybrid mode, added the Court.

The Court further informed that it would be impossible to change the exam mode now since the exams for around 34 lakh students have already commenced.

The SC also advised the advocate of the petitioners to not interrupt the exam system and rather provide suggestions, if he has any.

Earlier, six students of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations and the Central Board of Secondary Education filed a plea was against the decision of both boards to conduct the Term 1 exam in offline mode only. They also alleged that the offline exams will put the students' life at risk due to the COVID situation.
