The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the Term-I of Board examinations in offline mode this year. The time duration of the exam is 90 minutes/ subject and the exam will be conducted in objective-type questions, notified CBSE.
The Board also announced that the exams will be conducted in Nov and Dec and the detailed schedule will be released on Oct 18.
Earlier, the CBSE announced to follow a two-term academic calendar to prepare for the issues that surged during the last academic session. Last year, the Board scrapped the theory examinations after the 2nd wave of Covid-19.
After finishing the Term-1 exams, the results will be declared in the form of the scored marks scored. The Board will declare the final results after completing the 1st and the 2nd-term examinations.
The CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj also informed that no student will be placed in the pass, essential repeat, and compartment categories after the first term.
The Term-2 exam will also be held in offline mode and the questions may be objective or subjective type.
To simplify the schedule's grouping, the Board has divided the 1st-term exam subjects into major and minor subjects. The exams of the minor subjects will be held first and mostly include electives.
The Board is offering a total of 75 subjects in Class 10 and 114 subjects in Class 12. Major subjects i.e. 09 for Class 10 and 19 for Class 12 – are included among the core ones such as Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, English, etc.
The exam schedule announced on Oct 18 will only cover major subjects.
