According to officials, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), UNICEF, and YuWaah are working together to make 21st-century skills available to school pupils. YuWaah, a platform for connecting young people with the commercial sector, governments, and international and local organizations, is backed by UNICEF and aims to help them become active and involved citizens.

As part of their continuous partnerships on life skills, CBSE, UNICEF, and YuWaah will collaborate on career counselling as well as making volunteering options more accessible and encouraging student participation.

According to the officials, a statement of intent was signed to set forth the areas of partnership and significant milestones therein. The Passport to Earning (P2E) project for CBSE students, under which they would be upskilled with essential 21st-century abilities mapped to CBSE's employability skills curriculum, was also approved at the meeting, according to the officials.

The effort will be expanded based on the pilot to reach all kids, expanding teacher training and capacity building to enable the same. UNICEF, Generation Unlimited, Microsoft, and Accenture are partners in multi-stakeholder, international cooperation that includes the P2E programme. This e-learning solution's expansion in India is made possible with the help of Capgemini, a crucial partner.

"The transition from rote learning to skilling has been heavily emphasised in the new National Education Policy (NEP). It also suggests teaching pupils skills beginning in elementary school. One of the programmes the Board supports to work toward this objective is Passport to Earning. In the future, we might look into combining P2E with the Centre government's Skill Hubs Initiative "Nidhi Chibber, the chair of CBSE, remarked.

Yasumasa Kimura, UNICEF's representative in India, claims that CBSE is one of the key players in providing young people with 21st-century skills on a large scale.

"With this nationwide alliance, we have the honour of reiterating our dedication to the promising future of young people. We are eager to collaborate in order to enable young people in India to succeed in their studies, careers, and personal lives, he said.
