The Maharashtra Govt. has constituted a committee to implement the policy of making Marathi mandatory in all the schools across the state. As per the government resolution announced on Thursday, an eight-member committee is being constituted by the department to implement the policy and set some regulations for class 1 to class 10.

The Committee will include the Director of Education as a leader of the committee and the other members will be from the MSCERT (Maharashtra State Council of Education Research and Training), Balbharti, and State Board.

The committee will also make sure that all the schools under any board such as CBSE, IB, ICSE and IGCSE across the state must follow the guidelines set by the Maharashtra govt. regarding the education of the language.

As per the Maharashtra Compulsory Teaching and Learning of Marathi Language in Schools Act 2020, the schools, other than the state board's schools, must follow the guidelines, teaching plan and syllabus as suggested by the State Education Department.

The rule has already been implemented in schools across the state in class 01 to 06 for the academic session 2020-2021 and it would extend every year up to class 10.
