The Delhi Govt. has approved the formation of a separate school board for around 2700 schools across the city. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, during the press conference, made the announcement.

Initially, around 22 state govt schools will be affiliated under DBSE (Delhi Board of School Education) and in the upcoming 04 to 05 years, all the schools will be brought under the Board.

At present, there are more than 1700 private schools and about 1000 Delhi govt schools and most of these schools are affiliated to the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education).

Kejriwal informed that the new Board will be governed by the Education Minister of the Delhi govt. and an executive body which will be headed by the CEO (Chief Executive Officer).

The aim of the Delhi Board of School Education will be to impart education that prepares self-dependent and 'fiercely patriotic' students who serves the country in a noble manner. The DBSE will acquire the high-end techniques and best international practices in school education to grant education as per the students' aptitude, he added.
