The Delhi government will be launching the patriotism curriculum from the next academic session from kindergarten to Class 08 aross all its schools. The syllabus of the programmes will help students in developing a in-depth understanding of the self, family, society, school, nation, and the world.
The Delhi government has informed that the aim of the curriculum is to strengthen the skills and values in children that contribute in nation-building and to prepare students into being a responsible citizen.
The government has also constituted a panel to design the curriculum. The teaching practice will include mind mapping, group activity, stirytelling, role play, etc. The syllabus committee is also corporating with Community, Teach for India, We The People and the Youth Collective.
Manish Sisodia, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister, said, "India's glorious past and our constitutional values should not be restricted just to books. We need to implement theem in day to day life as well".
The Delhi government also mentions that the programmes will help in creating feelings of patriotism and responsbility towards the country.
