Delhi Govt To Train 5000 Students Under Delhi Teachers University On Global Practices

Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, informed that around 5,000 students will be able to register for admission in Delhi Govt's Delhi Teachers University this year. He provided the information while visiting the under-construction campus of the University in Bakkarwala village.
Teacher Education programmes such as BA-BEd and BSc-BEd will be offered by the varisities to help in developing a new generation of teachers, as notified by the government.
For the entire duration of the programmes, the registered students will remain attached to Delhi government schools and receive hands-on experience emphasizing research, it added.
The Education Department is also trying to bring in the best teachers who have work experience with foreign universities and will train Delhi teachers with the support of global best practices, notified Sisodia who also authorizes the education portfolio.
He added that the university will look after the professional requirements of both pre-service and in-service educators. The curriculum at the university will be designed according to the best global practices, he further added.
The University will also organize conferences and interactive sessions for the students to provide them an opportunity to engage with teachers from across the globe.
The Delhi Teachers University will be developed across 12 acres of land. The University will have a 04-storey main block further divided into 02 parts i.e. the Administrative Floor and the Education Floor.
It will also have digital labs, lecture halls, and a library with world-class amenities to cater 5000 students.
