Digital library system e-Granthalaya Executed in Over 100 Uttarakhand HEIs

The 'e-Granthalaya' portal has been connected to more than 100 higher educational institutions in the Uttarakhand state, delivering online access to course textbooks and research papers in diverse subjects for 1.9 lakh individuals, which includes both students and faculty members of the institutions.



Dhan Singh Rawat, Higher Education Minister, said that Uttarakhand is on track to accomplish 100 percent digitisation of higher education in the near future with the help of the portal.



Currently, around 115 higher educational institutions are linked to the portal, with 1.9 lahks recorded users profiting from uncomplicated online access to their course/programme materials or textbooks and research papers.



Dhan Singh Rawat communicated his satisfaction with this development, stating that students in Uttarakhand will no longer have to struggle due to textbook shortages.



According to the information by the officials, the e-Granthalaya portal, developed and maintained by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, is set to automate in-house activities and deliver member services and networking for resource sharing for government libraries.
