The DISC 4 (Defence India Startup Challenge) has been launched by Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister, during the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) event. The DISC 4 has been launched with the aim to develop the outlook of iDEX ecosystem in the country.

During the event, the Defence Minister also launched the iDEXFauji and PMA (Product Management Approach) regulations.

One of its kind, the iDEXFauji is an initiative to provide support to innovations recognized by Indian Armed Forces' members and also to advocate economical innovative ideas from field formations and soldiers.

Mr. Singh further added that the iDEX initiative is an immaculate and one the most effective defence startup fabricated in the country which would act as a pivotal step to achieve the self-reliance spirit of the AtmaNirbhar Bharat campaign.

He also added that certain steps have already been taken by the government towards the dream of self-reliance by including and inviting different stakeholders and the participation of the private sector is also expected to further expand the idea.
