Aspirants who wish to take admissions at Delhi University need to indicate their preferences for colleges and courses, based on their priorities, on a CSAS- Common Seat Allocation System this year. On Wednesday, the Academic Council of Delhi University approved the admission procedure formulated by a Standing Committee for admission this year.

Delhi University will offer acceptance based on the out-turn (marks) of the Common University Entrance test (CUET). If two students are tied up for a seat with the same result, the class XII board examination score will be considered a tie-breaker. If students are still tied, the older candidate will get the seat. Before, admission was based only on class XII scores, but this year CUET exam is being held for admission in Central Universities for the first time in its history.

For a long time, Delhi University had been considering admission based on entrance tests as many colleges develop into admitting more students than the number of seats since the university is bound to accept all who meet the cut-off. The admission process is entirely online. Delhi University will commence a Common Seat Allocation System, a consolidated portal for undergraduate admission to all DU colleges.

How to apply?

Log in to the dashboard and access the Program section. Candidates will be asked to choose a course and college combination. You can also select multiple options. Candidates will not be allowed to add programs after the deadline for the application. The cherry-picking of the Program + College combination will also specify the preference order for the allocation of seats.

The allotment of College and course:

  1. Order of priority of Program + College combination chosen by the candidate in the application form.

  2. Rank of the candidate in the Program-Specific merit list.

  3. The category of the candidate- unreserved or reserved.

  4. Availability of seats in diverse categories in which the candidate is suitable.

Once the allotment of seats in a particular round, the applicant will have to accept the seat offered before the last time/date specified for the given round. The College will Approve or Reject the provisionally Allocated Seat of the candidate after the verification. After the verification process, the candidates will pay the fee within the prescribed time.
