On Sunday, Delhi's education minister Atishi announced that students in Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS) would obtain free coaching for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) from the next academic session.

At a review meeting with the officials of Delhi Model Virtual School, the minister delivered recommendations and instructed the officials to formulate a five-year action plan for the school.

She emphasized that Delhi's education model is being applauded globally, which has drawn the attention of students from across India to be a part of it.

Atishi highlighted that the government's objective is to deliver high-quality education that is affordable and inclusive, allowing students from all states to profit from it.

She said DMVS has all the benefits of a physical institute but is virtual and affiliated with DBSE. Today, learners from 13 states and UTs, including Delhi, are learning here, and this year our priority is to expand its reach. We aim to ensure that quality education is available regardless of location.

In the upcoming academic session, students will virtually get IIT-JEE and NEET training. The virtual school will also provide students with job-oriented courses/programmes like coding, accounting, design, finance, and digital media, along with short-term and progressive courses developed by industry experts.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal introduced the "country's first virtual school" on August 31, 2022, in which students from across India will be eligible for admission in standards IX to XII.

However, the chief minister's assertion was denied by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), stating the first virtual school had already been established in the nation by the Centre in 2021.
