Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Education and Skill Development Minister, launched the one-year booklet of the New Education Policy. The booklet details the initiatives taken by the govt within a year since the introduction of the NEP.

Education Minister Pradhan jointly launched the booklet with the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar.

The Minister also launched various other initiatives of the NEP (New Education Policy) 2020 such as NIPUN Bharat FLN tools and resources on DIKSHA; alternate academic calendar of NCERT, and Virtual School of NIOS.

He also launched an accessibility booklet "Priya" which is developed by the NCERT and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

'Priya the Accessibility Warrior'- is an accessible and interactive E-Comic-Activity Book on Accessibility for school going students for ingraining the concept and significance of accessibility in children right from their formative years

"Priya -The Accessibility Warrior" is the conclusion of collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), and Department of School Education and Literacy. The booklet provides the information of a girl named Priya who could not walk after meeting with an accident and had a plastered leg. The story portrays her courage to participate in all school activities, and her capability to learn the importance of accessibility. The comic book is also accessible with ISL (Indian Sign Language) explanatory videos.

Pradhan, while launching, also said that the implementation of the NEP is a true example of cooperative federalism and can be used to attain a common objective of making India a global hub of knowledge.
