First Drone School By Assam Govt in Northeast
The Assam Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (AMTRON) has collaborated with EduRade- a start-up brooded at IIT-Guwahati, and IIM- Calcutta Innovation Park for the project. On Tuesday, August 16, Keshab Mahanta, Assam's Information Technology Minister, inaugurated the drone schools.

According to the reports, as a part of the Central Government's pursuit to make India an epicenter for drone technology, the northeast has got its first remote pilot training in Guwahati. The Assam Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (AMTRON) has collaborated with EduRade- a start-up brooded at IIT-Guwahati, and IIM- Calcutta Innovation Park for the project.



On Tuesday, August 16, Keshab Mahanta, Assam's Information Technology Minister, inaugurated the drone schools. During the inauguration, he stated that Youths could work anywhere in the country and any sector after getting training from the experts.



The schools will have teachers and trainers authorized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to carry out the pilot license training programme.



The establishment has been set up at 'Tech City' with its flying ground at the Assam Forest School in Jalukbari. Officials told that AMTRON had developed two micro categories (not over 2 kgs) and two small categories (2-25 kgs) of primitive drones for training objectives. The first Directorate General of Civil Aviation consented drone training school in India was inaugurated in Haryana last year.
