First Olympic Values Education Programme launched In India
The International Olympic Committee Has Launched India's First Olympic Values Education Programme In Odisha.

The First Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) in India has been launched by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) with the Olympism-themed curriculum, being incorporated into the school education system in the state of Odisha. The purpose of OVEP is to introduce young people to the Olympic values of respect and excellence and to make children more active, healthy, and responsible citizens.



In its first year, this programme is supposed to impact 32,000 children enrolled in 90 schools in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, and once in full swing, it would be reaching about 7 million children. The launch of OVEP, a landmark initiative in India's Olympic Movement comes as a build-up to the prestigious IOC 2023 session.



This IOC 2023 session raise a mark of the new era in Indian sports history, Meanwhile, it encourages India's ultimate Olympic contenders to work more on their skills and bring global laurels.



"India has more than 250 million children in our schools loaded with full of enthusiasm, talent, and potential. They are future champions of our nation. Among all of them, very few may become Olympians, but every children could be touched by the ideals of Olympism. The mission to launch OVEP is to make it a huge opportunity for India. Just like we prepare to introduce the IOC session 2023 in Mumbai next year, I look forward to further strengthening the Olympic movement in our country," said by IOC Member Nita Ambani.
