The Educational Institutions including coaching centres, schools, and colleges will be allowed to reopen under the new guidelines issued by the MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs. The Ministry also stated that the UTs and states will have the flexibility to take the decision in a measured way regarding the reopening of the institutions after October 15.

The higher educational institutions can be reopened from October 15 for students studying under Postgraduate, Ph.D., and Research programmes where experimental/ laboratory works are needed but the Department must consult with the respective school/ institution's management regarding the classes for the rest of the students.

As per the new guidelines, the digital and distance learning will continue to be the preferred modes for education even though the physical classrooms are being reopened.

Moreover, the Ministry has also advised the educational institutions to not impose the compulsory attendance rules and the written permission is mandatory for students who wish to rejoin their schools or institutions.
