On Wednesday, the Union Health Ministry issued the Standard Operating Procedures which are to be followed while conducting the examination. As per the Ministry's statement, there is a need to organize and supervise these exams as per the issued preventive measures to contain the expansion of COVID-19.



All educational institutes, universities, examination centers, and examination conducting authorities have been suggested to plan a detailed exam schedule keeping in mind the preventive measures since these centers are frequented by the students, staff members, and guardians the most.



The Ministry also suggested that it is the responsibility of the university/ institution to make arrangements for the students from containment zones who couldn't appear for the exam. The institution must make the arrangement to conduct the exams at a later date. In case a student is already a corona symptomatic and still wish to appear, then the separate isolation room must be arranged.



The Ministry also said that all high-risk staff such as pregnant, old age staff etc. must be deployed in such a way that the minimum direct contact could be ensured. The SOPs also include the seating arrangement that must be made keeping in mind the social distancing, proper sanitization of hands before distribution, collection and packing of the papers/ answer sheets, and the prohibition of usage of saliva and sharing of belongings.
