The IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), Jammu and the IIM (Indian Institute of Management), Jammu has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) for collaborative excellence in research, teaching and placements, along with sharing the resources and expertise to improve the education quality, as notified by the officials.

The officials further added that the two developing institutions are aiming to fraternize and participate in various parallels to produce the best managers and engineers across the country. At the IIT Jammu campus, teams from both the institutions got together to discuss the working and future of the MoU.

This partnership will also work towards the creation of a 'Community Engagement Programme' which will be dedicated to resolve the issues of the region, as decided at the meeting. The extent of the MoU includes academic, administrative, consultancy, and research collaborations.

The officials also mentioned that the faculty members of both institutions will hel[p students with their research excellence and academic expertise and the credit system and programme options must also be agreed upon at an individual level.

The officials further added that the contacts of resource persons and organisations of IIT and IIM Jammu may also be shared to improve the placements of the graduating students.
