IIT Mandi, Embassy of Korea work together on academic programmes
IIT Mandi will work with Korean colleges and establish a contract with Yonsei University College of Medicine.

The Korean Embassy and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi are looking into working together on academic and scientific projects. IIT Mandi was recently visited by Hyo Hee Lee, the science and technology attaché at the Republic of Korea embassy, and Y J Park, the director of the Indo-Korean Center for Research and Innovation (IKCRI), New Delhi. Discussions during this two-day trip will center on prospective partnerships between IIT Mandi and Korean universities that could advance the Institute's mission to serve both communities' interests through technology innovation and research.



During their tour of the campus, Park and Lee stopped by a number of cutting-edge labs, including the MANAS Lab, ACS Lab and Advanced Materials Research Centre, BioX Centre, Centre for Design and Fabrication of Electronic Devices (C4DFED), and IIT Mandi iHub and HCI Foundation (iHub), where they spoke with the staff and students.



The Korean Ambassador's trip to India to attend the Institute's colloquium and sign a contract between IIT Mandi and Yonsei University College of Medicine was discussed by Park and Lee while they were meeting Professor Laxmidhar Behera, director of IIT Mandi. Professor Behera added, "It is a joy to interact with the IKCRI through this visit of Dr. YJ Park and Hyo Hee Lee, expressing his gratitude to the Institute's visitors. IIT Mandi is committed to fostering collaboration among academic institutions, young professionals, and scientific institutes in order to create breakthroughs for the favorable turn of events.



According to Park, who visited IIT Mandi, "...it was excellent to have the experience and watch the research projects such as landslide alert systems, a cognitive study in artificial intelligence, VR approach, etc. After visiting the IIT Mandi campus, it appears like we can work effectively as a team to accomplish our shared goal much more.
