Jammu’s Higher Education Department Collaborated With IIM, IIT
The Higher Education Department will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIM and Indian Institute of Technology IIT at Jammu in order to collaborate and coordinate research, teaching, and extracurricular activities.

The Higher Education Department will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIM and Indian Institute of Technology IIT at Jammu in order to collaborate and coordinate research, teaching, and extracurricular activities.
Principal Secretary of Higher Education Rohit Kansal gave this information on the sidelines of the valedictory function of the three-day orientation programme. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) organized the programme, for the second batch of IPM. He was the chief guest at the farewell ceremony of the event.
During the event, Kansal congratulated the batch for getting into IIM Jammu and wished them the best in their collaboration journey. He emphasized the importance of education, which is not only to learn skills and employment but to obtain virtues too and lead a good, moral and reliable life. He encouraged the students to become good human beings throughout the professional journey, serve society, leave indelible marks in their chosen fields, and become assets to the Nation. He also highlighted the value of punctuality and discipline in student life as these two qualities only can guarantee their overall personality development. Only well-disciplined and civilized students can guide society towards a flourishing and advanced world.
He added that we must embrace increased ethos as an integral part of our daily lives apart from focussing on studies. We must also contribute to the propagation and advancement of our incredible cultural legacy during our education period. Kansal also conveyed his own experiences during his management education with the participants.
The valedictory session of the orientation program commenced with the program summary by Dr. Kapil Manohar Gumte, Chairperson IPM, IIM Jammu followed by brief orientation remarks by Professor Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, IIM Jammu. He welcomed the incoming batch to the IIM Jammu family and encouraged them to take responsibility on their shoulders and contribute to the IIM Jammu family.
The Director of IIM Jammu, Professor B.S. Sahay, offered in-depth insight into the expectations of the students towards the course and the institute via his speech. He suggested the students make the best out of the course, and the faculty provided it to them. He guided the students to enjoy their academic studies and their sports while on the ground.
He provided a fascinating overview of his life and quoted real-life experiences from his past. Further, he encouraged the batch to remain curious and enjoy their life and study by consistently working with an objective in life.
About IPM
IPM is a five-year Integrated Programme. Selections- are made by the IIM through a highly competitive national examination. The current orientation session was a three-day programme to familiarize the incoming students with various aspects of the course, the programme, the institute, and other segments.
These included addresses by various invitees, including Avny Lavasa, DC Jammu, and a conference by Rashmeet Kaur, District Youth Officer, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, who is also an Alumnus of IIM Jammu. Various inbound and outbound activities for students were promoted by faculty members from the OB and HR areas.
The activities showcased the significance of teamwork and team coordination. The programme ended with an exclusive session of yoga and meditation by Shri Gautam Verma- conducted under the program Maximize happiness and Mindfulness.
