On Monday, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren congratulated toppers of central and state board examinations and Olympiad in an award distribution event conducted by the Department of School Education and Literacy.

At the award distribution ceremony, a total of 130 rank holders of exams conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), and toppers of the Jharkhand Olympiad were awarded.

According to a press release, under the Jharkhand state government scheme, state toppers of board examinations conducted by ICSE, CBSE, and JAC were granted Rs.3 lahks each.

Second and third position holders of these examinations were awarded Rs.2 and Rs.1 lakh each. In addition, all these topper students were also provided laptops and mobile phones.

A sum of Rs.1.32 crore, mobile phones, and laptops were distributed among them.

Chief Minister said that even if a student from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, or any part of the country tops from any Jharkhand school, they will be rewarded by the state government.

Soren said the government wants to reduce the initial financial load on the families of topper students after the board exams. So, we have rolled out the scheme.
