The Karnataka Govt has released the Standard Operating Procedure for teachers to conduct the SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) or Class 10 exams.

S Suresh Kumar, the Primary and Secondary Education Minister, also advised the teachers who will be appointed at the examination centres to abide by the SOPs.

The SOPs have made it compulsory to sanitize the exam furniture, hall and washrooms daily before and after the exam.

To maintain physical distance, there would only be 12 students in each hall and only one student on each desk. The SOP also directs students to not gather at any time.

The SOP also mentions that the proper arrangements must be made in rural areas and the test centres should be created at a taluk-level for students to appear for the exams.

Minister Kumar also informed that the vaccination of all the involved authorities including staff, teachers and officials is mandatory and must be done in cooperation with the district administration.

The students would be provided masks at the health counters in the examination halls. There must also be a thermal scanner, first-aid boxes, pulse-oximeter and sanitizers at the centres. The authorities should also arrange two rooms for the students suffering from common cold, cough and flu.

An ambulance must be reserved in each taluk and a COVID Care Centre must also be arranged for Corona positive students.

Unlike other states, the Karnataka Govt is conducting the class 10 exams in two phases.
