In Mangalore, Karnataka, The Dakshin Kannada District Administration took a step forward for the children or students who were orphaned during the Covid-19 pandemic by providing them with free education and other accommodation facilities.

The Dakshin Kannada District Administration has hailed two educational institutions, the Nitte Institute of Nursing Sciences and Nehru Memorial College in Sullia. The educational institutions lauded by the administration are to propose free education to two children who lost both parents during the pandemic.

The Dakshina Kannada Child Protection Unit found around eleven children who lost both parents due to covid-19 and are being taken care of by their relatives. These institutes have shown feelings of thoughtfulness as the Nitte Institute of Nursing Science offered a free seat to a girl from Uppinangady who lost both her parents due to the pandemic. At the request of Deputy Commissioner K V Rajendra, the institutes have provided free seats, hostels, accommodation, and other basic facilities to the students in need.
