The government had also recommended the development of 30 inter-university centres as Centres of Excellence. A total of 07 inter-university centres located in 05 universities have been considered in the project's 1st phase, added Bindu.
The selected centres are: Inter University Centre for IPR Studies, the Inter University Centre for Space Sciences and International Commercial and Environmental Law (both in Cusat); the Institute of Intensive Research in Basic Sciences and Institute of Multidisciplinary Programme in Social Sciences (both in MG University); Inter University Centre for Renewable Energy (Kerala University) and Centre For Malabar Studies (Calicut University).
