Since most of the schools around the country are in the undertaking of starting their academic year, the schools are opting for online education. Keeping in mind this situation, the Maharashtra Govt. Education Department is set to upskill teachers for online teaching. This education will be provided for various education mechanisms.

The training will be provided by the MSCERT (Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training) for around 40,000 teachers. In first-phase, the teachers from aided schools & junior colleges will be given priority as informed by the authorities. Later this program will expand to private school teachers as well.

The 16 July is the last date for the enlistment in the first phase of the program and teachers, who are interested, are advised to send their details on time.

Free of Cost Google classrooms for every school has been planned by the department as well.

While this initiative is being appreciated by teachers, the another major concern is internet connectivity. There is also an issue of some students not being able to afford the internet and these issues can't be overlooked.
