Shivika Marwaha, a Gurugram girl studying at University College Cork, Ireland, has been awarded the inaugural Malawi eHealth Research Center Scholarship. The research will focus on the risk evaluation of Type II Diabetes Mellitus in low, middle and high-income countries. The scholarship will also cover the travel support to conduct research, workshops, and surveys in Malawi, Africa.

Ms. Marwaha is a national level athlete, grade 07 pianist and has an immense interest in chemistry, biology and psychology. She also pursued internships at private hospitals such as Ruby Hall Clinic, Medanta while she was still in school.

She was pursuing a Bachelors in Medicine at Ireland university while being awarded the scholarship. She has also been selected for a research programme at Brown University and as an intern at CERN, Geneva.

She wishes to continue incorporate research career-wise and also mentioned, "I have not decided on a medical speciality yet but, my interests currently lie in Psychiatry Gastroenterology, Digital Health and the Gut-Brain Microbiome Axis'"
