An initiative, MANODARPAN, has been launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development to bestow psycho-social counselling and support to students for their mental well being. The Ministry, under the initiative, also launched a tollfree number: 8448440632, a handbook on 21-century life skills, and a Manodarpan website.

The initiative was launched by Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, HRD Minister, on 21 July. There is also another important component which is an Interactive Online Chat Option.

The announcement regarding the initiative had already been made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the May month stating that this initiative is another component of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan.

"Many students are stressed out because of the COVID-19 lockdown and require psychological support. This psychological support will be provided to the students, parents, and teachers by Manodarpan," as per the official statement.
